Terms of Service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Xlate, a service for live transcription of meetings, with real-time translation into English (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Xlate Live (“Xlate”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organization.

2. The Service

Xlate transcribes audio you provide in real time, translates it into English, and offers related tools such as speaker labels, summaries, search, question answering over your transcripts, and exports. We may add, change or remove features over time.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • Give us accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and organization.

4. Recording and consent: your responsibility

You must have the right to record and transcribe every meeting or conversation you use with Xlate. You are responsible for telling participants and for obtaining any consent that the laws applying to you and to them require, including recording and wiretapping laws, workplace policies and data protection laws.

Xlate asks you to confirm this before each session. We do not monitor your meetings and are not responsible for your compliance.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service unlawfully, or to record or transcribe people without the consent or notice the law requires;
  • upload content that infringes others' rights or that you have no right to use;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or reverse engineer the Service, or bypass its security or usage limits;
  • scrape, resell or provide the Service to third parties except as your plan allows; or
  • rely on the Service for emergency, safety-critical or life-critical purposes.

6. Plans, minutes and billing

Plans. Xlate offers a Free plan and paid Starter and Business plans, plus custom Enterprise arrangements. Current prices and the minutes included are shown on our pricing section. Plans are priced per organization per month in US dollars and, unless stated otherwise, before applicable taxes.

Minutes and limits. Each plan includes a fixed number of transcribed audio minutes per billing period. On the Free plan the period is the calendar month (UTC); on a paid plan it runs monthly from your subscription start. When you have used all your minutes, new sessions cannot start until the period renews or you upgrade. A session already in progress is allowed to finish, up to the maximum session length below. Minutes are counted when a session ends, so a session that begins before you reach the limit may run past it. We do not charge overage fees.

Session length. A single session can run for up to 2 hours on the Free and Starter plans, 3 hours on Business and 4 hours on Enterprise. We warn you about 15 minutes before the limit; when it is reached the session ends, everything recorded so far is kept and counted, and you can start a new session straight away.

Payment. Paid plans are sold through Stripe's Managed Payments service. For these purchases Stripe (or one of its affiliates) acts as the merchant of record: it charges your payment method, collects applicable sales tax, VAT and GST, issues receipts and invoices, and handles payment-related support. Charges may appear on your statement as coming from Link (for example “LINK.COM*”). We never receive or store your full card details.

Renewal and cancellation. Paid plans renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time under Settings > Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.

Changing plans. If you change plan during a billing period the difference is prorated: an upgrade takes effect immediately and the prorated amount is charged immediately, and a downgrade is credited. If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it; if it cannot be collected your subscription may be cancelled and your organization returned to the Free plan.

Changes to prices or plans. We may change prices or plans. For existing paid subscribers we will give at least 30 days' notice, and the change applies from your next renewal.

Refunds. Our Refund Policy applies to all payments.

7. Your content

You keep all rights in the audio, transcripts, glossaries and other material you provide or that the Service produces from it (“Your Content”). You give us a limited licence to process, store and display Your Content, and to send it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy, only as needed to provide and secure the Service.

We do not use Your Content to train machine-learning models. Our service providers process it on our behalf and are subject to their own terms and privacy commitments.

8. Automatic transcription and translation

Transcripts, translations, summaries and answers are produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or mistranslated, especially with poor audio, overlapping speakers, accents or specialist terms. They are not a substitute for a professional interpreter or an official record. Check anything important before you rely on it, and do not rely on the Service alone for legal, medical, safety or financial decisions. You are responsible for how you use the output.

9. Availability

We work to keep the Service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It depends on third-party providers, and there will be maintenance and occasional outages.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. Subject to these Terms and your plan, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account yourself in Settings or ask us to by emailing neural1narrative@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if a payment cannot be collected. When your account ends your right to use the Service ends, and we will delete Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100 if you have not paid us anything.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, including recording or transcribing people without the consent or notice the law requires.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about them, without limiting any mandatory rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
